柳宗悦展 / 暮らしへの眼差し - 2013-16
柳 宗悦（やなぎ むねよし／そうえつ）は、日本を代表する美術評論家・宗教哲学者であり、思想家として民藝運動を主唱した人物です。宗教哲学や近代美術への深い関心から白樺派にも参加し、日常の雑器に宿る美や職人の手仕事の価値を見出し、その思想を広めました。没後50年、日本民藝館の開館75周年という節目に合わせて企画された特別展では、柳宗悦の卓越した収集家としての審美眼に焦点が当てられました。
この展覧会の図録デザインを担当し、柳の「眼」を象徴するような構成を扉ページを中心にレイアウトへ落とし込みました。展覧会は約3年をかけて全国巡回され、多くの人々に柳宗悦の思想と美意識が伝えられました。

Exhibition of Soetsu Yanagi - 2013-16
Soetsu Yanagi (also read as Yanagi Soetsu) was a leading Japanese art critic, religious philosopher, and thinker, best known as the founder of the Mingei (folk craft) movement. With deep interest in religious philosophy and modern art, he joined the Shirakaba circle and pursued the philosophical meaning of beauty, discovering aesthetic value in everyday objects and the craftsmanship behind them. To mark the 50th anniversary of Yanagi’s passing and the 75th anniversary of the Japan Folk Crafts Museum, a special exhibition was organized highlighting his exceptional eye as a collector.
I was responsible for designing the exhibition catalogue, creating a layout—especially on the opening pages—that drew inspiration from the concept of “the eye,” a central theme of the exhibition. The show toured across Japan for about three years, bringing Yanagi’s vision and philosophy to a wide audience.
